Who is on your Christmas list this year? Your friend who lives for travel and adventure? Your super stylish BFF? Maybe your determined sister who is pursuing her passion?

When it comes to gift-giving, we prefer the kind with just the right amount of style and thoughtfulness. This year in our Freshie & Zero handmade gift guide, we decided to highlight a few special pieces to make it easy for you to shop for the ladies in your life!

 Small Sail

Small Sail – a necklace for the adventure seeker. Each piece is small so they don't get in the way while rock climbing or parasailing.

 Many Moons

Many Moons – For the goal diggers and dream seekers! This is our favorite gift for graduation, but it's also a best seller year round!

 Stem Lariat

Stem Lariat – It's never a bad idea to dress things up a little. The chain on this one is super fun and sparkly - perfect for your next holiday party!

Introducing, the Antique Oar

This paddle-inspired necklace has become a fast favorite! The organic oar shape of the pendant is hand-formed from sterling silver wire that is then oxidized, and the whole piece is adorned with a small stripe of gold filled hammered wire.

{photo courtesy of Michael Wurm., Jr., at Inspired by Charm.}

Our friend Michael over at Inspired by Charm captured this whimsy perfectly in his lovely DIY oar art. We're in love with this throwback to the warm days of summers past and cool nights on the beach!

A big, beautiful bouquet of rose gold

Everything's coming up rose gold! Have you seen it? We now offer some of our favorite simple pieces in rose gold filled.

Rose gold achieves its subtle pink hue by adding a bit of copper to yellow gold. "Filled" refers to the process of permanently bonding gold to jeweler's brass – it keeps the look and characteristics of solid gold but at a fraction of the price. It will not flake off, and it won't turn your skin green because it is nickel free and safe for sensitive skin!

Rose gold is perfect to add a new dimension to your wardrobe! Check out a couple of our immediate favorites: the gather and the minimal large hoops

You can see our three metal offerings compared below!

Fashion Friday: 1 Dress, 3 Looks

Being able to take one garment and style it multiple ways is an important fashion skill. Whether you're on a limited budget, on vacation with little suitcase room, or just working with what you've already got in your closet, versatile core pieces are a must! For this Fashion Friday, we thought it'd be fun to demonstrate how to take one dress and one pair of earrings and create three distinct looks. Our foundation piece is a tangerine shift dress paired with our River Rocks earrings.
Look 1:
We decided to pair the vibrant frock with patterned tennies, a day tote and baseball cap. This outfit creates a casual look, perfect for grocery shopping or running errands with the kiddos.
a. Twill Baseball Cap by J.Crew
b. Floral Keds by Taylor Swift for Keds
c. Stripe Canvas Tote by Henri Bendel

Look 2:
This look is a bit more polished with the addition of a petite scarf, cross body leather purse and jeweled flats. We'd wear this outfit to lunch with the girlfriends or even a casual date night.
d. Handkerchief Scarf by The Elder Statesman
e. Rhinestone Embellished Sandal by Calypso St. Barth
f. Tan Messenger Bag by Tory Burch

Look 3:
Our third look is ideal for a fancy dinner or cocktail event. The classic dress is easily glammed up with a sequin clutch, leopard pumps, and shimmery hair piece.
g. Bow Claw by Henri Bendel
h. Leopard Print Stiletto Heel by Kurt Geiger
i. Confetti Clutch Bag by Edie Parker Jean

Fashion Friday: Farmer's Market

Open Air Markets may be one of our favorite things about summer. What's not to love about shopping local for fresh produce and cheese, baked goods, and other treats in gorgeous weather?

Farmer's Markets are definitely all about casual comfort and laid back style - our favorite kind of outfit to wear! Here is a sweet ensemble that merges of-the-moment boho style and just-rolled-out-of-bed. The white peasant top combined with cutoffs is the classic foundation, the hat adds summery peasant style and metallic accents add effortless glamour.

Fashion Friday: Nashville Style

Contrary to popular belief, Nashville residents do not frolic around in sundresses and cowboy boots on a daily basis. In fact, true "Nashville Style" is quite the opposite of the Daisy Duke meets Taylor Swift look. If you venture away from the main drag of Honky Tonks on Broadway to the less touristy areas, it's quite evident that natives sport a casual, put together appearance. A staple getup for a Nashvillian would be a well worn pair of jeans, a basic top, artisan metal jewelry, handcrafted leather boots and a sharp bag. It's also quite probable that you'd find some local Nashville goodies in that bag, (like an Olive and Sinclair Chocolate Bar) since we Nashville residents love to support our local businesses!

2. Buttermilk White Chocolate by Olive & Sinclair Chocolate Co.

Fashion Friday: Fourth of July

Dust off the fireworks, fire up the grill, and slice up the watermelon because the Fourth of July is right around the corner! For this Fashion Friday, we thought we'd put together a stylish holiday outfit that is just the right amount of red, white, and blue. When dressing for the occasion, you can either go the subtle route by playing up the Americana color palette, or you can go the literal route and rock a flag or anything star patterned. We like this look because we think it's the perfect mix of the two. This navy and white striped dress paired with white sneakers, a casual tote, American flag scarf and red sparkly nail polish is perfect for your picnic or fireworks gazing. Add our Double Chevron Necklace to the mix and you're decked out (tastefully) in festive stars and stripes.

Fashion Friday: How to Dress for an Airplane

Let's be honest - flying is about as fun as riding an overcrowded school bus, but please don't let that tempt you into wearing pajama pants as your in-flight outfit. Trust us, it's easy to look presentable on a plane while still maintaining comfort; in fact, we think you'll be even more comfortable just by putting a little effort into your appearance! Here's a simple list to help you travel in comfortable style.

1. Layer, Layer, Layer: You never know what the temperature on the plane is going to be. Give yourself the ability to adapt to the fluctuations by wearing layers that can easily be removed or added. Leggings with a basic tank and cardigan are perfect for this occasion. We also love scarves for traveling because they can double as a blanket.

2. Minimize Your Accessories: With Airport Security as tight as it is, you don't want to be the girl that holds up the line because you have to take your 100 bracelets off, one by one. We recommend wearing  simple jewelry so you can zip through security without having your chunky bib necklace x-rayed.

3. Wear Comfortable, Easily-Removable Shoes: You never know if you'll be running like a madman to make that connecting flight or walking a mile to find your next terminal or a bite to eat, so it's important to wear comfortable shoes (this does not include flip flops!). You'll also want to wear shoes that are easily-removable, since you'll be taking them off and on through security, and if you're a germaphobe, be sure to wear socks!

Fashion Friday: Summer BBQ

To quote Alice Cooper, "School's out for Summer!" meaning barbecue season has officially begun! When else can you combine delicious food, drinks, music, beautiful weather, fun and games all at one event? Whether you're the one hosting the BBQ or a guest at someone's get together, you should remember that cookouts are technically low key affairs so it's important to sport an ensemble that is put together but not over the top. A casual dress is always a good option, and one that lets you wear a bathing suit underneath is even better (in case you decide to take a dip in the pool or lake). A big, Mary Poppins style tote is your best friend at these events because it allows you to pack every possible thing you'll need: sunnies, a hat, a towel, sunscreen, etc. You'll also want to wear comfortable flats or sandals - heels are a no-no for obvious reasons. Lastly, a simple, dainty necklace like our Small Honey Petals Necklace is the perfect finishing touch to a BBQ get up (just remember to take your jewelry off if you go in the pool).

2. Small Honey Petals Necklace by Freshie & Zero
3. Geometric Correa Sandals by Jonathan Adler for TOMS

Fashion Friday: CMA Music Festival

The hottest event in all of Country Music is about to take Nashville by storm; the CMA Music Festival. On June 5th-8th, tourists from every corner of the world and Nashville natives alike will be flock to downtown Music City to attend concerts filled with every country artist known to man...plus more. Our studio is located smack in the middle of it all, which means we get loads of free entertainment and people watching just outside our door. Based on our years of experience with this festival, when it comes down to what you should wear it's safe to say you can't go wrong with a summery romper or dress, a big cowboy hat and of course boots. Adhering to country fashion is on the forefront of every attendee's mind, but don't forget to bring an easy-to-carry purse and only wear jewelry that won't be ruined from excessive sweat (we recommend earrings instead of necklaces).

2. June Earrings by Freshie & Zero
3. Combi Sunglass by Mango

Fashion Friday: Bonnaroo

With Bonnaroo on the horizon, (June 12th-15th), we thought we'd cover an ideal outfit for those lucky enough to be in festival attendance. Surprisingly, it is quite easy to achieve a perfect balance between looking cute and being comfortable when you know you'll be spending all day sweating in the sun. We opted for a pair of high waisted jean shorts, a light-colored, breezy blouse (one that leaves enough room to wear a crop top underneath so when the temperatures rise, you can easily strip it off), sturdy boots that allow you dance all day without blisters, and a fanny pack...while there aren't many situations where fanny packs are ideal, at Bonnaroo, they're perfect because they allow concert goers to keep all their valuables close while still being handsfree. To finish off our outfit, we've included a daisy headband and Freshie & Zero Leaf earrings to give off a whimsical, hippy look. With this ensemble you'll be ready to brave a full day of sun, heat, dancing and of course, music!

2. Retro Underwire Bikini Top by Topshop
3. Vintage High-Waisted Shorts by Levi
4. Holytube Crop Top by Stone Cold Fox
5. Combat Boots by Frye
6. Woven Trim Fanny Pack by River Island
7. Leaf Earrings by Freshie & Zero

Fashion Friday: Wedding Season

April Showers bring May…Weddings. That's right! Wedding Season is officially upon us; inducing not only lots of excitement, but also panic, especially if you're unsure of what to wear as an attendee. For this Fashion Friday, we've curated three outfit options to wear for every kind of wedding: informal, semi-formal and formal.
Informal:
This floral, shift dress matched with wicker and leather accessories perfectly suits an informal, daytime wedding.

2. Natural Havana Clutch by J.Crew
3. Slingback Sandals by Hermès

Semi Formal:
If you're in need of a fancier option, we adore this cap sleeved, lace dress paired with bold flats and a metallic clutch.
1. Lace Dress by J.Crew
2. Floral-brocade point-tow flats by Dolce & Gabbana
3. Metallic Leather Clutch by Leonie Lizard

Formal:
For those attending a formal, nighttime wedding, a "LBD" is always appropriate and can always be glammed up even more with sparkles and bow accessories.
1. Black Rib Box Pleat Dress by River Island
2. Rhinestone Clutch by Alice + Olivia
3. Satin Bow Pump by Kate Spade

Last, but certainly not least, we've included our "Knot" Necklace which is the a perfect gift for a bride or bridesmaid.

Fashion Friday: Mother's Day!

Pull out a pen and mark your calendars because May 11th is Mother's Day! You'll most likely be spending the majority of the day celebrating the mom in your life, or being celebrated yourself. It's also pretty probable that some type of restaurant outing will be included in the equation (yay - no one has to cook!). So, for this Fashion Friday, we decided to create an ensemble for Mother's Day Brunch.

We love this navy dress because it's not only classic and flattering, but also extremely versatile, allowing you to adorn yourself with fun accessories. The floral cuff is ideal because unlike a real flower corsage this piece can be worn again and again. We're also digging these splurge-worthy gold pumps and matching purse for their bold splash of color. Topping off the ensemble is our best selling "Love" necklace, an ideal piece for any mother to sport on her special day, as it represents becoming a mother and the special connection that forever changes us. (Available to purchase from our website and ship in time for Mother's Day through May 5th)

1. Love Necklace by Freshie & Zero
2. Floral Cuff Bracelet by AppleWhite
3. Yellow Suede Pumps by Manolo Blahnik
4. Textured Crepe V-Neck Dress by Rebecca Taylor
5. Soft Crinkle Pashmina by Pepperberry
6. Jacquard Bag by Dolce & Gabbana

Fashion Friday: Batter Up

With America's favorite pastime in full swing (see what we did there?) we thought it'd be appropriate to dedicate this Fashion Friday segment to MLB. Even if you're not a die-hard fan, baseball games are fun outings! The fashion challenge of attending these sporting events is striking the perfect balance between casual and cute - you never want to be THAT girl who comes overdressed in a sundress and wedges or the slob that shows up in grungy athletic gear. We think this outfit is home-run-worthy because it accomplishes the perfect fusion of looking put together while still being relaxed. Lastly, because sweating is often involved in sports (even while cheering in the stands), we recommend sporting earrings instead of necklaces to avoid damaging your pieces with humidity and moisture.

Fashion Friday: Rainy Day Chic

With spring arriving in full force, so are the inevitable April Showers (plus possible damaging wind and hail, nbd). Luckily, it's easy to stay dry and look fabulous at the same time during the stormiest of days! We've put together this rainy day outfit - the pop of color and fun patterns are enough to brighten up any stormy day. To finish it off, we've paired it with our sterling silver Heavy Drop Earrings, perfect for anyone trying to look pretty in the precipitation.

What to Wear: Happy First Day Of Spring!

We're LOVING this outfit combo with our "Lucky Petals" necklace!  Our necklace is made from three sculpted wire circles, that were then hammered and added to a delicate chain, reminiscent of little flower petals… Perfect for spring!
