As seen in… Stationery Trends!
Press alert! Our letterpressed earring cards were just featured in the Summer 2014 issue of Stationery Trends magazine. We are so excited for the feature! The headline states "Freshie & Zero makes a great impression with letterpressed earring cards" - why thank you!
You can learn more about Stationery Trends here. It's a trade publication for retailers, but if you're just really into paper products, I recommend subscribing for all the eye candy within its pages!

Show at the Renaissance Center
Here is a very nice article, if I must say, about Freshie & Zero. It is on the Renaissance Center's website where my jewelry will be on display January 23rd - March 14th. The opening reception will be held Friday, January 30th from 6 - 7:30 but unfortunately it falls on my sister's birthday dinner so I won't even be able to go! Although, she's been so unpredictable lately (she turned 14 - need I say more?) that she may decide she doesn't want to go out after all... Either way, if you have been wanting to see the Renaissance Center, which is a beautiful facility complete with laser light shows (Laser Beatles, anyone?) and art shows, you should definitely go check it out and stop by my jewelry case while you're there!
The Renaissance Center is an arts and technology education and performing arts center just 35 miles west of Nashville on Interstate 40 at exit 172. Open 8 am to 9 pm Monday through Friday, 9 am to 9 pm Saturday. Closed Sundays except for special events. For more information, call (615)740-5600 or 1(888)700-2300. The Renaissance Center, 855 Highway 46 South, Dickson, TN 37055.

Check out Gawk Magazine

Gawk Magazine wrote up a little feature on me here. It's a new online magazine, and I think it's based here in Nashville but I could be wrong. Here is a copy of their mission statement:
"The purpose of Gawk Magazine is to discover, reveal and promote the extravagant. In doing so, Gawk Magazine actually redefines extravagance by looking at the process in which a product goes through, and revealing why it is worth what the showroom floor price tag says it is."

Article in the NY Times
All about the "D.I.Y." movement, buyhandmade.org, etsy, and even mentions the Renegade Craft Fair, Austin Craft Mafia, and the Girlie Show, of which I am currently a featured participant on their fun blog! Take that, lame craft shows of whom I keep getting rejection letters!

The Girlie Show blog did a little write up about me in their blog. Go check it out! It was such a fun show, and I was tickled that they wanted to feature me along with some of their other fabulous artists!

I'm in the Rage!
Sweet!
I'm in the Designer Spotlight in the Rage this week (a weekly free Nashville magazine/paper about what's happening around town). It just came out today, so if you're in the area, pick up a copy! It took me five different stops before I finally found a place with the current issue, but I was on a mission. The article turned out great - you never know how you're going to come off in an interview, but the author, Jennifer Killerich, did a great job! Just click on the photo below to see the whole article.

Sweet surprise in the mail
I love mail. I get lots of it - bills, coupons, magazines, jewelry supplies, companies wanting me to use their credit card processing services for Freshie & Zero, even a free pen every now and then with Freshie & Zero printed on it - pretty fun stuff, really. So when I got my invite for the Harpeth Hall Alumnae Art Exhibit, I forgot to open it until the next day since I pretty much already knew what it was going to tell me. So, I pulled it out of the envelope...
Nice - like the design. Then I opened it up further...

...to see a huge picture of my Lucky Necklace on the invitation!!! Wow!!! I got super excited and called my mom right away to see if she had gotten the invite yet. She hadn't but she was excited anyway.

I was also in a show Saturday night that was a benefit for the Tomorrow Fund. Seriously - there are a LOT of Harpeth Hallers out there - so many women came up to my booth and then said they had seen my necklace in the invitation! I got to be excited all over again and tell everyone how surprised I was! Not to mention I sold tons of jewelry and raised a bunch of money for the Tomorrow Fund and the Community Foundation. Yay!
